He married twice. He married Lucy A. Kidder in Carroll, Chautaugua, New York. Lucy was born in Carroll, Chautaugua, New York, Usa 29 Dec 1830. Lucy died 31 May 1877 in Busti, New York, at 46 years of age. He married Altana C. Campbell in Busti, New York, 6 Feb 1879. Altana was born in Busti, New York 16 Aug 1840.

Harmon G. Mitchell and Lucy A. Kidder had the following children:

1313 i. Herbert S.⁹ Mitchell was born in Busti, New York 14 Jan 1850. Herbert died 19 Mar 1865 at 15 years of age.

+ 1314 ii. John K. Mitchell was born 1 Apr 1852.

+ 1315 iii. George Warren Mitchell was born 25 May 1856.

1316 iv. Minnie Mitchell was born in Busti, New York 3 Aug 1866. She married Walter T. Bliss 20 Jan 1891. Walter was born Nov 1860.
