The Richardson Memorial by John Adams Vinton [1876]: 49: +130. Eleazar,4 b. about 1720; m. Lydia Perham. 130. [page 66]: ELEAZAR RICHARDSON4 (Samuel,3 Josiah,2 Ezekiel1), youngest son of Samuel3 and Rachel (Howard) Richardson, of Chelmsford. His birth does not appear on the Chelmsford records; but from a comparison of many dates on the town and county records, it must have taken place not far from 1720. The probate court appointed him administrator of the estate "of his father, Samuel Richardson," May 20, 1754; and the inventory of said estate, dated June 10, 1754, represents him as the only son, that is, the only son living. He married LYDIA PERHAM, born Sept. 24, 1722, daughter of Benoni and Sarah Perham, of Chelmsford. [Page 67]:
He lived in Chelmsford. His will is dated June 24, 1776; proved Oct. 29, 1776. His wife, Lydia, survived him. Their children, all born in Chelmsford, were:
293. Lydia,5 b. May 10, 1749. | These are not mentioned in the father's
294. Rachel,5 b. June 14, 1751. | will, and probably died young.

Notes for Samuel PERHAM
SOURCE: PERHAM FORUM: Posted by Robert Hanscom on December 15, 1998 at 08:35:53: Samuel Perham, b. 1717, son of John and Experience (Powers) Perham (& great-grandson of John & Lydia Shipley Perham), moved from Mass. to New Ipswich, NH. He and his wife Mary both died in New Ipswich within one week of each other in 1760, leaving as orphans 7 children. Samuel's brother, Lemuel, was granted administration of the estate, but he took whatever assets there were and then left the children as wards of the town. The children were: Samuel Jr. (b. c1743), Amos (c1746-1765), Mary (1749-1822; m. Obadiah Hall), Lydia (b. c1752, m. Samuel Abbott), Sarah (b. 1754, m. Putnam Farrington), Asa (1757-c1778), and Elizabeth (1759-1828, m. John Gordon). I have searched for years for the identity of Samuel's wife, Mary. Nothing in the vital records or in the probate papers has provided me any answer to this question. Any help would be most appreciated. I descend from Sarah (Perham) Farrington who went to Fryeburg, Maine.

We find the whole number of tax-payers to be ninety-five. They were all in the prime of life, the oldest of them, Capt. Tucker, being only fifty-eight years of age. Among them we find four widows, showing that the universal destroyer had
already commenced his work here, and ten or twelve had already become tenants of the old burying-ground; besides which, tradition says there were five buried near the head of safford lane, previous to the opening of the old cemetary in 1753.
Among these were a son and daughter of Ebenezer Bullard; a son of Joseph Bullard; two sons and a doughter of Benjamin Adams; the wife of Ephraim Adams; a daughter of Benjamin King; two sons and a daughter of Benjamin Hoar; Samuel Perham, his
wife and a son; Abijah Foster, the first settler, and one of his sons had died in the Army."
